Trinity D’Estrella

Let’s Meet Trinity…

Posted by: ah su on: May 16, 2009

This is it…my new alter-ego.  Meet Trinity D’Estrella.  But just Trinity is fine.   I’m named after the character in the movie The Matrix.  Why, you might ask?  Well, she’s a cool character that I always loved, and I always thought how great it would be to play that character.  The actress’ real name is Carrie-Ann Moss.  My real name is Kerry-Ann.  Get it?  Same name, different spelling.  I say it’s fate..haha…  Trinity also refers to the Holy Trinity, something which is close to my heart.  It may sound a little odd for me to bring religion into this topic of pole dancing…haha…but I believe that God is always by my side.  So this is just my little tribute to Him and also, a kind of blessing for me…  Although I seem to have put a lot of thought into my pole name, it was actually quite an impulsive decision.  I was told it was better and more fun to have a pole name, so this is what I decided upon in a hurry.  :)

I’m actually pretty new to the world of pole dancing.  I’ve known about it a long time.  Seen it in the movies and always wanted to try it out.  But as to actually trying it out for myself, I’m pretty much a baby at it.  I’m the only contestant in this competition that has never actually had a proper pole lesson.  Yes, I am a trained dancer…but asking me to climb a pole is still quite a foreign thing to me.  And try gripping the pole between your thighs and letting go your arms…  I still wonder if I’m able to give birth in future each time I attempt that because some ‘unmentionable’ place hurts unbeliveably much!! ;-P  So, I’m pretty happy that there is the ExoticPole category which takes the pressure off having to do death-defying stunts and I am still able to dance with the pole without worrying that I can’t go upside-down on it yet. Hehe…

My first brush with pole-dancing was joining an amatuer contest.  I must have been a little mad to think of it, but I was assured it would be an amatuer level.  I nearly went home after I saw some of the contestants climbing up the pole and happily spinning round and round at the preliminary round.  And that was only during the practice session!  They hadn’t even done all that they were capable of.  But I made it all the way through to the finals and even won a subsidiary prize.  All through that, I had pretty much learnt most of what I knew from youtube and the help of a really good friend who gave me a few tips.  I was very bruised and battered by the end of it, especially since I didn’t know what the heck I was doing…but I ENJOYED it.  And I understood why so many people are hooked on it.  Pole-dancing is VERY addictive.

Well, I guess this is my latest adventure in pole-dancing.  I look forward to the experience and am sure I will learn much from the process and enjoy myself.  The ExoticPole group met up yesterday to work on the group dance, and we pretty much worked out the intro plus the skeleton of the whole thing.  So now we only need to fill in the blanks.  Not bad for 1 rehearsal, I think.  Great work, guys!

Till next time then.. ;-P
