One week more…sigh… So much to do!! The group rehearsals have been going well, but I’ve barely started on my solo within the group routine. However, I finished planning my 3min solo, but I haven’t actually finalised it or done it full-out. Hmm…worrying… I’ve over-strained my right arm and it’s feeling weak. How to practise if arm is not working??
I cannot fail. One more week to go! I have to say though that I’ve really enjoyed the process. It’s been really fun! Certainly a memorable experience. And by the way, I discovered yesterday that next week is Trinity Sunday on the Christian calendar… Is it a sign? hehehe… I’ll certainly take whatever blessings I can from above…

These are the bruises on my inner right leg...

The bruises on my lower legs...
My body does have its usual aches and pains. My arms feel like they are of different lengths now because I don’t have time to train both sides equally. And as I’m typing this, they are still shaking a little and aching from tiredness. My arms and upper body are generally not very strong, so learning the different hand grips are challenging for me, especially when I have to do a crash course in it! These are moves people take months to learn. Respect to everyone!

Omg…one week has passed since we started rehearsing as a group. Time sure has flown!! I only just finished editing the music for my solo yesterday. I tried out some things while training today and am very happy that I learnt a new move! Yes!!! All thanks to some cool strangers who became acquaintances, who were around during Pole Access at Talent Hub. Thanks for being so generous in sharing your knowledge..
I also tried climbing the night before…and though I still can’t climb high, I discovered that I can happily let go of the pole now and just sit there now. Again, thanks to some of my fellow polestar team-mates for the tips.
So…I’m far from done on working on my solo. Time is running out fast, since pole access is limited and I have a limited knowledge of pole technique. But I suppose what I don’t know, I’ll hopefully cover with creativity. Don’t get me wrong…I want to do it correctly, but I hope to make my routine creative and entertaining enough to be my strong point.
The group is working well. We’re really sorry to see Diamond have to leave the competition, but we welcomed her replacement, our new team-mate last night… Welcome, Devil! Hope we didn’t scare you with information overload.
We have pretty much sorted what the group as a whole is doing. Now we just need to fill in the details. Yikes, another solo to work on! *faint* haha…
But so far, I’m enjoying this process much more than I could have anticipated. Well, just keep pushing on…

This is it…my new alter-ego. Meet Trinity D’Estrella. But just Trinity is fine. I’m named after the character in the movie The Matrix. Why, you might ask? Well, she’s a cool character that I always loved, and I always thought how great it would be to play that character. The actress’ real name is Carrie-Ann Moss. My real name is Kerry-Ann. Get it? Same name, different spelling. I say it’s fate..haha… Trinity also refers to the Holy Trinity, something which is close to my heart. It may sound a little odd for me to bring religion into this topic of pole dancing…haha…but I believe that God is always by my side. So this is just my little tribute to Him and also, a kind of blessing for me… Although I seem to have put a lot of thought into my pole name, it was actually quite an impulsive decision. I was told it was better and more fun to have a pole name, so this is what I decided upon in a hurry.
I’m actually pretty new to the world of pole dancing. I’ve known about it a long time. Seen it in the movies and always wanted to try it out. But as to actually trying it out for myself, I’m pretty much a baby at it. I’m the only contestant in this competition that has never actually had a proper pole lesson. Yes, I am a trained dancer…but asking me to climb a pole is still quite a foreign thing to me. And try gripping the pole between your thighs and letting go your arms… I still wonder if I’m able to give birth in future each time I attempt that because some ‘unmentionable’ place hurts unbeliveably much!! ;-P So, I’m pretty happy that there is the ExoticPole category which takes the pressure off having to do death-defying stunts and I am still able to dance with the pole without worrying that I can’t go upside-down on it yet. Hehe…
My first brush with pole-dancing was joining an amatuer contest. I must have been a little mad to think of it, but I was assured it would be an amatuer level. I nearly went home after I saw some of the contestants climbing up the pole and happily spinning round and round at the preliminary round. And that was only during the practice session! They hadn’t even done all that they were capable of. But I made it all the way through to the finals and even won a subsidiary prize. All through that, I had pretty much learnt most of what I knew from youtube and the help of a really good friend who gave me a few tips. I was very bruised and battered by the end of it, especially since I didn’t know what the heck I was doing…but I ENJOYED it. And I understood why so many people are hooked on it. Pole-dancing is VERY addictive.
Well, I guess this is my latest adventure in pole-dancing. I look forward to the experience and am sure I will learn much from the process and enjoy myself. The ExoticPole group met up yesterday to work on the group dance, and we pretty much worked out the intro plus the skeleton of the whole thing. So now we only need to fill in the blanks. Not bad for 1 rehearsal, I think. Great work, guys!
Till next time then.. ;-P
